R U F U? Not so much. Jane and I just watched Fired Up! For some reason we thought that would be a good idea. There is a lot wrong with this movie. Here’s the short list of what sucked:

1. The characters seems to shout all lines into the camera – even in moments of intimacy.
2. The writing is on par with all those American Pie DVD spin-offs.
3. The male leads are playing 16/17 year old boys but the actors are actually 29 and 32.
4. The women in this film are all emotionally stunted retards.
5. Every word by every character seems unrealistic.
6. What should have ben raunchy and fun ended up being PG-13 and drab.
7. Talentless painfully bad cheer sequences.

Now for the short(er) list of positive things I noticed:

1. Eric Christian Olsen and Nicholas D’Agosto are very likable (and lickable).
2. The movie has some clever fun with gay stereotyping.
3. Silly references to Bring it On – “the ‘Citizen Kane’ of cheerleader movies“.
4. I learned a new phrase: wrangling snooch – the act of trying to get laid.

I advise you to wait for cable on this one. Or just skip it altogether. Aaaaaaaaaand for your viewing pleasure here’s a gratuitous photo of 32 year old Eric Christian Olsen playing a 16 year old.
